Haman's Plot

When using Haman's Plot, are you required to discard 3, or can you discard fewer? So if your opponent has only 2 characters, are you required to discard one of your own? Also, if there are only a total of 2 characters in play, are you still able to use it?

Nameless is incorrect. "May" simply means you can choose not to carry out the ability at all (for example, if you wanted to play HP for the numbers), however if you choose to carry out that ability you must do it completely. Unless a card says "up to", you are required to carry out the ability on as many targets as the card specifies (in this case, 3). The only exception is if there aren't enough legal targets (for example, if they have a fortress protecting the characters in their territory) in which case there is a "do as much as you can" policy in Redemption so you would choose as many legal targets as you can and then discard those.

Yes, Nameless was not wrong, but what he said didn't answer joezim007's question.

If you play plot, you must either discard 3 (or as many as you can if there are not enough legal targets), or none.

You're right, I misread what he said the first time. Even so, his answer was incomplete.

Q1. If not enough targets are in play, then yes. Although I have seen it played that people chose to only strike 2 (that was on ROOT though and may have been illegal)

Q2. Yes, you can hit your own Character via Plot, although in most circumstances I wouldn't suggest it.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

That was indeed illegal.

Okay then, I'll have to remember that then.
