Also note that discarding a character does not "undo" the banding. Only negating the band will remove it.

Sorry for not being more clear.  I was following up on what was said about "discarding a character does not undo the banding"

If I play a "discard hero" card on a hero that is currently in battle and banded, does that hero get discarded right then or at the end of the battle?

Hope that makes more sense.

That is the question I addressed with my previous post, since that is initially what I thought you meant:

So, you do not wait until the end of battle.

Garfragan:
Does that banding still stay intact until the end of the battle?  Or does that end with the discard as well?  I think in a previous post you said the banding would still be in place till the end of the battle, but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks again for your patience . . .

Banding is an instant ability. It happens immediatey, and then it is done. The banding is not an ongoing ability that has to be kept active (so to speak). The banding ability just gets the character into battle, it does not keep them there.

The discard does not affect the banding. Only a negate will "undo" the banding, unless the banding says "cannot be negated." As you will find in Redemption, though, there are always exceptions to this general rule. For instance, a "Choose the Rescuer" ability would replace the original hero, thus indirectly undoing the banding. However, discard is not one of those exceptions.

Thanks again for the help!
