What is the result of a 'bye'?

I know that I've read it multiple times, but I cannot recall off-hand what happens if a player receives a 'bye' for a round as far as scoring and Lost Soul differential. Any help? Thanks!

Win (3 pts) and a (-3) lost soul differential.

Which stinks soooo much.

The LS differential used to be -3.  It is now 0.  It was 0 last year too.

That information is found on page 5 of the Tournament Host Guide 2008/09.

Wow - I don't know how I missed that when I read through the Tournament Host Guide yesterday before posting this... Thanks, Gabe!

Oops, I thought that scoring system was still considered an error.  Guess not since it's still there.

I thought the rule was that a player gets a 0 LS diff if the bye is due to an odd number of players and a -3 LS diff if the bye is due to the player being late.

the result of a "bye" is finishing second in a tournament.   >:(    I've had WAY too many bad experiences with "byes" and the big pile of result that they leave in my lap.

Good news - we didn't have to bother with it today anyway. ;)
