I hereby respectfully initiate the annual think-tank for trip plans to Nats 2010. This is the template for now that would later be filled with more details such as plans for car-pooling, airfare data, hotels, etc. ----

I have reserved posts 2 and 3 for further info.

I will edit this thread accordingly.

Group rate normally refers to multiple rooms. Basically, if you can fill say 5 rooms, the hotel might give you a discount since you bring in traffic.

Multiple people staying in the same room is also a good idea for bringing costs down.

I believemy wife and i get to go to Nats this year we are wanting a carpool or to ride with some one we are going to be leaving from bolivar MO. If any one can help we can help drive/pay for gas

My family will be staying at the Springhill Suites, which is 1 mile from the church. That way, Kurt and I can walk to the tournament in the AM, leaving the car for my wife and daughters to come over when they are ready. They have a great price for 2 adults and 4 kids in a room ($103 including a AAA discount). Free breakfast and indoor heated pool. Nice.

Some hotels will charge you extra if you have more than two adults (over 16).

Well, I would be very willing to share the cost of a room with as many people as possible, even if it means sleeping on the floor or in a closet or under a bed or in a box - as long as I get to go to Natz!!!!!

I also would still like to join any carpoolers who might be moving past St. Paul, MN. I will pay for my share of gas, and I'm also willing to drive part of the way, although I'm not sure if anyone would want me to.

I doubt many MNers will be driving though, since it'll probably take either all of one day or most of two to get there from here.
