Just saying, but more playgroups die after Nationals than those that grow.

I wonder why that is?  Do you think that it has to do with the stress that is put on the host?

Quite possibly, however our playgroup is almost exclusively age 18+ at the moment, and is comprised of some veteran CCG players.  Plus, we thoroughly enjoy Redemption, competition, and each others' company so it's unlikely that our group will die after a National tourney.  (That is unless the vehicle we're traveling in gets involved in an unfortunate situation, but I trust that God won't let that happen)

A bunch of the guys in the south are planning to fly up to MN for LOCAL TOURNAMENT in late February. But not for nats?

Oh really? Eric will not be able to make it. I have only heard one TN guy show any interest. Chris/Clift will not be able to make it. I am the only one that said I was going, which is still a toss up, but it should work out. Although the majority of us should be going to Nationals, a bunch of guys will not be going to MN in February. Secondly, that LOCAL TOURNAMENT, is not just any local, it's the most competitive tournament of the year, and especially appealing to us T2 gurus down here in the south. MN this year for nats, next year TN, with Chris Fachman and myself hosting. GA will not have nationals this year because I am not going to put in a bid, and I am pretty sure Eric would tell me if he did. Minus the whole, we have no venue thing...

Funny, I believe in Sowing & Reaping. It's God Law that runs the universe. Thank you for sharing your speculation with us. But I'll stand on God's Word and it says you reap what you sow.

The numbers prove it, we've grown in size and impacted the community. Of which it started from people just sowing seed. Sharing the game, sharing the gospel, sharing God's Love and it'll grow because God said so in His divine Law of Seed, Time, and Harvest.

He wasn't arguing anything; just pointing out that our playgroup is growing from the seed that has been sown and that we'd love to have a National tourney held in Florida.  It may be statistically in your favor to say that playgroups typically die after Nationals, but that doesn't prove that Nationals is the cause.  Not everything posted on this forum is intended to incite some sort of argument.  I personally see no reason to try and argue with Drew's statement.

SE does have a lot of good players (although, mainly T2), I don't deny that. Who was in Florida doesn't matter, since they've moved and are no longer near.
Good point with RR. Although, if we're going for awesomeness factor, Wild Bill wins. I'd still prefer TN over Florida.

I also support TN as a venue for NATS. My suggestion would be for Chris to start getting playgroups involved near the main airport: McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) Louisville, TN 37777

so we can shuttle people easier to and from the tournament.

I disagree except for the type 2 part.  Most of our play group has only been playing for a year so for most of them Type 2 decks are expensive to build considering their collections really only limit them to 56 card, tournament-grade decks.  There's only one guy who could move and that would be a great honor because he's active military.

You misunderstood me. It doesn't matter that Kirk and Tim Maosikdmflaowefihnaskjdfnawe used to live in Florida, since they no longer live in Florida. My first statement about SE's good players being mostly T2 players was referring to Georgia, not Florida.

Well, I live in the Southeast, and I am the most awesome player the game has ever seen. I get so bored with winning that I create decks that are sure to lose, but I sometimes win anyway. Clearly we should have Nats in Florida this year because that's where I live.
