What's up with the blue-link ads all of a sudden?

(1/2) > >>

Redoubter:
Just like the title says.  There are posts throughout the boards in the past day or so where some words have that annoying blue-link text that links to a pop-up ad.  Not all of them seem to be working, but they are all over the place.  And suddenly invading the boards.

Can someone explain what is going on?

I haven't noticed that. Can you link some examples?

In looking at this briefly on-line, it seems not everyone may see the same ads.

This thread has some examples (sorry to single out one thread, but it provides a good case).

If you can't see it when you go there, here are some screenshots of what I see (inside spoilers):

Also, fun fact:  I just uploaded these pictures, checked the thread again, and the ads are gone.  But there you go, valid screenshots.

None on My end....

It's definitely on your end. Probably something to do with your browser or some kind of extension.

Googling easyinline lead to this. If you downloaded it, try uninstalling it. If you never downloaded it, it's probably adware/spyware.
