http://artofmanliness.com/

Thought I'd share this blog with the boards and open up a discussion thereof.

Teaches some pretty cool man-skills, like how to make a citizen's arrest, throw a knife, dress for a date, and has various good bits about virtues and lifestyle.

I think some of the stuff on that site is a bit much, but for the most part it's pretty sweet if you have the spare time and money to pursue it. Generally speaking manliness is pretty much absent from men these days so every step in that direction is a good one.

We need to get you on open discussion.

I'm really liking it so far. It's creative and quite good.

What's open discussion? Is it some secret far reaching corner of the boards?

No. If it were, it would be called Secret Discussion.

Fight Club.

Nice going. Why don't you tell the kids about santa claus while you're at it?

Actually, now that I think about it, my status/quote/thingy is breaking the first and second rule, so I should take the plank out of my own eye.

FTR, I lost my "manliness" tag when I watched Sleepless in Seattle and enjoyed it.

One of my favorite movies is a romance movie, and I'm not talking about The Princess Bride. I don't deserve a man card.

Well, based purely on the website, I lack manliness because I have no desire to build a slingshot.  ;)

I don't know why everyone is hating on slingshots. I made one out of an inner tube when I was a little kid and had loads of fun with it.

I made a miniature catapult when I was in middle school. A slingshot was much more fun because I could actually shoot acorns at pesky squirrels.

Not very manly.

What are you trying to do, stage a revolution? You can't aim a catapult.

I Believe the Masculine (A Word so Close to "manly" that they can be used interchangeably)  (Loosely Define as " Like a Man") and Feminine (Loosely Defined as "Like a Woman")are stereotypical and overlap too much (Many Men and Women act in very Similar if not identical ways [Not saying that some don't act very differently]) to be Relevant Terms.

I Believe my "Man Card" Is impossible to lose (Not That I Cared about it in the first place as shown by my Avatar)

Manliness is determined by how self-actualized as a male you are, unless you have too much estrogen in which case manliness will be attained by denying yourself.
