I know this message isn't going to go down well, but per the new rule (that is in red on Post #2) both JDS & Isildur need to confirm.

police  In fact, this is for everybody.  We need both opponents to start confirming whether you won or loss and any other pertinent information that happened in the game.

I'm going to grant MKC the points as we adjust to this new rule in it's first week (mainly because my opponent didn't report either, so we're all adjusting).

The second week...I will start watching closer.

just curious, why was this rule implemented?

also, i provided the exchange between me and isildur that took place the day of the game. was this not enough proof?

If both players intend to participate in ROOT then they both need to post after the game.  Copying a chat doesn't count as another person posting.

This change was made for accountability for games as well as to keep better track of when Haman's Plots are being used.  It's rare that the player using the HP reports but their opponent rarely forgets they used it.  All of us who use HP are guilty in this regard and I don't think it's intentional.

and why exactly would copying a chat not count? the only burden of proof imposed upon me was to prove isildur was still in the tournament (regardless of whether he won the match or not). the chat clearly shows it was a root game.

also, i would say that of most root matches, both players do not usually report the outcome of a match. in most cases, it usually comes down to 'do you want to post the results or should i?' from what i have observed of all my root matches. less work just seems more convenient for most of us.

Because it is still just you posting.  He is saying that both people need to post; one person posting a chat (which theoretically could be 100% fictional) doesn't have the weight.

FTR, I'm talking 100% theoretical here; I'm not saying anything specific about anyone.

this entire tournament is based upon integrity and honesty. for example, all matches could potentially be results of collusion, yet we are not required to prove any further that such matches actually occurred as posted. my point is that if a tournament is based from such virtues, lets not be hypocritical and say it doesnt work in all areas.

We are tweaking some things to try to get more involvement in ROOT.  By having both players confirm, it gets both people at least visiting the thread.  For some players (like Isildur and JDS), they almost never post (and rarely play).  Maybe if they visited more often they'd decide to stick around and play more Smiley

Also along these lines, we have also shifted the prizes slightly (also in red on the 1st page).  Now if you bring a new friend to actually play in enough games to get 12 points, you can win a booster pack.  They could get 12 points even if they lose all their games and only play half of them in the month (2 x 6 = 12), so it's pretty easy.  Plus the new player would also probably get a pack themselves for being the highest ranked new player.  What a deal!

i agree there should be more involvement in ROOT by both players, but as witnessed, most players that play in root are casual players and dont really care about breaking top 8 or whatever...thus they usually dont post nor visit this thread. i would hope there would be more chances to include as many players as possible, not more restrictions imposed that could cost most players that really care about the tournament root points.
