Dom Limited

Type 1, with one rule change:
Your deck can only have a maximum of three good and three evil dominants.

Now, for those of you that hate doms, and want to see the game become more strategy, rather than speed, this is great.  For those of you that like speed, feel free to ignore this.

NOTE: Rob Anderson has given this idea validity.  He has said that if hosts organised this as a category, Cactus would provide prizes.  If want this to become official, we've got to do it.

Yes, it won't kill TGT, but one thing at a time

Everyone would just play New Jerusalem, Glory of the Lord, Guardian of your Souls, Doubt, Burial, and Mayhem (because it is actually FUN!). Thats just as bad as all 'dem other doms.

All that would happen to my decks is I lose AotL.

Type NW was an unofficial category that has a decent following pre-TxP.  It required players to play without dominants.  I still think those rounds at Nats last year were the best games I've ever played in any category.

I love type NW. It really changed the way you play and funny enough, the top two decks in it were so opposite, a heavy offense and a heavy defense deck. Proving both viable.

Fair enough, but among other things, a lack of destruction means Captured Ark literally has 0 counters.

But that helps with the strategy of it. As said, I like it a lot more because I don't have to worry about losing 2 lost souls and that being game over with aotl sog nj.

There are alot of curse counters in the new (Di) set, I don't think you can consider Captured Ark as having 0 counters.
Even if it did have no counters, its a strong artifact that gets rid of other strong artifacts.

I'm not too familiar with the newer cards, but I believe you're describing Mayhem.

To all the Captured Ark folks: Thus why Doms are limited, rather than eliminated completely.  Is three a good number, or less?
